MODALITIES

ASHIATSU (BAREFOOT MASSAGE)

Intense yet soothing ashiatsu is for the deepest deep tissue possible in the most approachable way. This technique minimizes post session soreness, can provide gentle skeletal adjustments, deep muscle & myofascial release, stretches tendons & ligaments, reduces chronic pain & stress with longer lasting results than more traditional massage modalities. Ashiatsu is a client & therapist favorite at ROAM!

SWEDISH/DEEP RELAXATION

Swedish massage works with superficial muscles and the nervous system simultaneously. Don't mistake less depth in pressure for lack of impact. This technique promotes profound shifts in all aspects of our being; promoting physical, mental & emotional relief. When our nervous system is regulated we begin to operate from a more grounded internal state and therefore shift our entire daily existence. These sessions encourage stillness and a coming back to the self.

HOT SALT STONES

DEEP TISSUE

With over 84 trace minerals Himalayan SALT stones are anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, & anti-bacterial. The salt binds to free radicals aiding the body in the removal of toxins and reducing cellular damage; reducing pain & stiffess throughout the body. Hot Stones have a rich sedating effect that instantly melt muscle tension on contact which are especially beneficial during winter months when our muscles withstand extended contraction or after injuries to loosen deeper layers of muscle without overworking the area. Hot stones offer numerous health benefits leaving you with a deep sense of comfort, relief and warmth.

Methodical and focused; Deep tissue isn’t as much about deep pressure but more about understanding muscle mechanics and navigating their location to promote release. Techniques may include myofascial release, active/passive ROM (range of motion), and trigger point therapy. Rarely is a deep tissue session one-off. Muscles have memory, therefore it takes dedication to start seeing relief from issues that have become chronic. 'Hands-on' deep tissue focuses on 1-2 areas per session (not full body). If you're looking for full body 'deep tissue' we suggest booking an Ashiatsu session.
