ASHIATSU (BAREFOOT MASSAGE)
Ashiatsu is a specialized & unique technique that is DEEPLY relaxing. Firm consistent pressure is applied with the feet (standing on your body) to large muscle groups with broad sweeping motions. This technique minimizes post session soreness, can provide gentle skeletal adjustments, stretches tendons & ligaments and reduces chronic pain with longer lasting results than traditional massage modalities. If you find that classic modalities never quite quell your tension this is the modality for you. Ashiatsu is a client & therapist favorite at ROAM!
SWEDISH/DEEP RELAXATION
Swedish massage works with superficial muscles and the nervous system simultaneously. Don't mistake less depth in pressure for lack of impact. This technique promotes profound shifts in all aspects of our being; promoting physical, mental & emotional relief. Consistent visits transform how you respond to life stressors and reduce overall anxiety. When our nervous system is regulated we begin to operate from a more grounded internal state- this is a beautiful thing. These sessions encourage stillness, silence, and coming back to yourself.
HOT SALT STONES
DEEP TISSUE
With over 84 trace minerals Himalayan SALT stones are anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, & anti-bacterial. The salt binds to free radicals aiding the body in the removal of toxins; reducing cellular damage. Hot Stones have a rich sedating effect that instantly melt muscle tension on contact which can be especially beneficial during winter months when our muscles withstand extended contraction. They're also beneficial after a sprain or tear to promote faster tissue regeneration and pain relief without overworking the inflammed areas. Hot stones revitalize the spirit leaving you with a deep sense of comfort, relief and warmth.
Contrary to popular belief deep tissue does not necessarily equate to deep pressure. Rather, it encompasses a variety of techniques aimed at targeting the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. While deep pressure is employed in certain instances, the true essence of deep tissue lies in its precision and methodical approach to releasing tension. Deep tissue sessions will focus on 1-2 areas per visit (not full body). If you're looking for full body DEEP pressure - Ashiatsu is suggested. Muscles have memory, therefore it takes dedication to start seeing relief from issues that have become chronic.
